Epiroc Expands Hydraulic Attachment Manufacturing Capacity in Sweden

2026-09-10

Epiroc has expanded its manufacturing facility for hydraulic attachment tools in Kalmar, Sweden, strengthening its production capacity for equipment used across the construction, demolition, quarrying, mining, and infrastructure sectors.

The expanded facility covers more than 8,000 square meters and has been developed as a highly automated and scalable production center. The investment brings Epiroc's European hydraulic attachment production together in Sweden, creating a more streamlined manufacturing operation and increasing overall production capacity.

The Kalmar facility produces a full range of hydraulic breakers, from the compact SB 52 to the large HB 10 000. These hydraulic attachments are designed for use with excavators and other heavy equipment in demanding working environments, including rock excavation, demolition, quarrying and mining operations.

According to Epiroc, around 175 people now work at the Kalmar site, including approximately 40 employees added as part of the expansion. The increased manufacturing capacity is intended to support customers in different markets while improving production efficiency and maintaining consistent product quality.

The expansion also reflects continued demand for hydraulic breakers and excavator attachments in global construction and mining markets. As contractors and equipment operators look for higher productivity and reliable performance, hydraulic attachments remain an important part of modern heavy equipment fleets.

For the wider construction equipment and mining equipment industry, Epiroc's investment highlights an ongoing focus on manufacturing efficiency, production scalability and specialized equipment. Hydraulic breakers, pulverizers and other excavator attachments are increasingly being used across a broad range of applications, from infrastructure development and demolition to quarrying and rock excavation.

With the expanded Kalmar facility, Epiroc is positioning its hydraulic attachment business to support growing demand from customers around the world while strengthening its European manufacturing base.
